For the whole department of Néma, there is only one small hospital, one health centre and 4 small satellite centres, which are thanks to the projects now linked by radio to the main centre. Emergencies can therefore be evacuated to the hospital, with the ambulance of the main health centre.

The new project is an extension of the one set in place already, and will cover areas around Timbedra.

Priorities of the projects is to train personnel in providing better maternity care and prevent early childhood deaths.
