The village association "Niamia Benkadi" built the first school in the area in 1995, with three primary classes to serve the children of their 7 villages.

This area in the south of Mali has very few schools, and while in the rest of Mali, 25% of children can attend school, in this particular area, it only covers 5% of the target.

The school can only today accept 300 for 3 classrooms. The need for a building with 3 more class rooms is urgent to allow teachers to meet the needs for education of those alredy there, and a few others.
