SEVAI, a partner with whom FdnF has worked for years, has always had projects in this coastal area which was devastated in December 2004. After successfully undertaking relief operations for the survivors (see project 266), Sevai has set up a full housing construction project for these families. FdnF is giving it its full support, with the financial help of the Chaîne du Bonheur, a Swiss funding agency, which has given Chf 1'056'301. The rest of the project indicated on this page under FdnF contribution) is supported by two FdnF committees, from Fribourg and Geneva.

227 houses will be built, following very strict national regulations and capable of resisting possible natural catastrophes, which are common in the area.

The project is to be finished by March 2007.
